ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of Mine Overseer at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Mine Overseer is responsible for ensuring efficient and safe operations within his/her area of responsibility through effective management of safety, efficiency, labour, quality, budget, compliance and reporting. The role of a Mine Overseer is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation of mining activities. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of mining processes.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•    Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental policies, standards and procedures.
•    Identify unsafe and hazardous conditions and assess risk. 
•    Perform regular safety inspections.
•    Ensure emergency preparedness.
•    Maintain a comprehensive system for reporting and investigating incidents to prevent recurrence.
•    Plan, direct and assess Quality Management and recommend remedial actions where necessary.
•    Contribute to annual budget planning by providing input into operational, capex and labour budgets.
•    Implement cost-saving measures where possible.
•    Efficiently allocate and manage resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
•    Provide input into functional planning. Develop and implement production schedules that optimise output and              ensure operational plan is executed.
•    Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. 
•    Plan, implement, control and monitor approved changes in area of responsibility.
•    Provide input into workforce planning and implement approved labour plans.
•    Assess and provide feedback on employee performance to encourage continuous improvement.
•    Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to enhance teamwork and morale.
•    Address and resolve conflicts promptly to maintain a harmonious workplace.
•    Assess team development needs and close gaps.
•    Manage people development initiatives.
•    Ensure team performance meets standards, targets and objectives.
•    Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Conduct document control spot-checks.

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
•    Certificate: Blasting (Required)
•    Certificate: Mine Overseer (Required
