Introduction

Ensure optimum availability and reliability of Instrumentation equipment and systems to ensure effective and continuously improved operations throughout BRMO.

Job description

•    Computer Literate 
•    System Skills: Microsoft Office, SHERQ Systems, JDE, Isometrics, Oracle, Scada, PLC, Weighbridges, Belt Scales, Radio / repeaters programming software, Security systems (CCTV cameras, alarms)
Telephones – Analogue and digital, Actuators/valves Flowmeters
Basic plant Instrumentation (pressure, flow, temperature, etc.)
•    Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
•    Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
•    Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
•    Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings.
•    Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
•    Contribute to team performance.
•    Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
•    Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas. 
•    Report problems and make recommendations to Supervisors.
•    Maintain, install, programming and repair instrumentation equipment and power supply units and lines per planned maintenance and break down work orders. 
•    Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned after use and stored in Storeroom according to labelling and BRMO standards.  
•    Perform instructions as per work orders and job cards.
•    Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
•    Calibrate, repair and maintain control gear, instrumentation and equipment

Minimum requirements

•    Grade 12 
•    Certificate: N3; S2; T1
•    Certificate: Trade Test Mechanician
•    Valid Driver’s Licence Code B 
•    Dover B Symbol
•    3 Years’ Mechanician on maintenance operations in a process plant automated environment (Total including apprenticeship)
