Position Summary
Introduction
Oversee the financial activities of BRMO including but not limited to the following: • To ensure that a corporate governance framework is developed and continuously improved for Financial Services (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Payroll Accounting). • To ensure best practices to achieve a healthy internal control environment within debtors, creditors, cash, payroll, time and attendance, facilities, legal and statutory compliance. • To ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting standards, & Tax and other regulations. • Develop financial plan models that are aligned with strategic goals. • Analyse financial data and trends to inform decision making. • Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them. • Use key performance indicators to measure performance and drive improvements. • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and business decisions. • Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with overall BRMO objectives. • Mentor Finance team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Job description
• Key information provider for decision making and monitoring of the implementation of the Finance strategy.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Comply with legislation, Align with the broader strategy and business plan.
• Compliance to legislation IFRS and Tax legislation (IINCOME TAX, VAT, PAYE and Royalty Act).
• Implementation, reviewing and maintaining of commercial terms on the Mine in terms of off-take agreements.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual reviews to ensure a healthy control environment is maintained in terms of debtors, creditors, cashbook, general ledger, payroll, time and attendance, operating and QTR reports and the 5-year plan.
• Oversee reporting to external customers monthly on income statements, balance sheets and cash flow.
• Oversee financial reports in compliance with industry legislation and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and regulatory guidelines.
• Oversee compilation of Annual financial pack reports (Assmang IFRS Pack and Tax packs) for Black Rock Mine Operations.
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction, business improvement, whistle blowers etc.
• Monitor and manage cash flow statements.
• Manage the Cleaning service provider at BRMO to ensure effective cleaning services at the office buildings at the mine.
• Manage the Facilities service providers (Restaurant, Garden services, Mokala Lodge, Game Farm etc.) to ensure effective utilisation, customer services and good housekeeping of the Facilities.
• Ensure that mechanisms to reduce risk to the business are implemented that ensure all legislative, accreditation and governance requirements are met.
• Promote and enforce a culture of statutory compliance. Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions. Ensure structures and frameworks are implemented.
• Ensure business plan is implemented in a manner that supports operational, quality and market imperatives.
Minimum requirements
• Honours- Bachelor of Commerce or Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (Required)
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting (Required
• CA (SA) Qualification (Required)
• Certificate: Mining/Company Tax (Recommended/Desirable)
• Driver’s License: Code B/EB (Required)
• 7 Years’ Financial management and accounting experience (Completed Articles, CA (SA))
• 3 Years’ Managerial Experience
