Position Summary
Introduction
Provide consistent quality training according to safety, legal and national requirements with regards to engineering
Job description
• Assist with the implementation of change management to drive transformation and optimisation.
• Control and assess quality management to ensure adherence to MQA and ISO standards.
• Identify improvement areas and derive creative solutions involving team members.
• Assist line managers with general queries and advise on HRD related topic
• Ensure safe working conditions, at the as per mine health and safety act. Monitor and identify trends regarding incidents and accident.
• Report any SHERQ incidents to the relevant parties
• Liaise with relevant departments and standard generating bodies to understand technology developments and its impact on training needs.
• Conduct regular internal audits on training sections regarding compliance to all site and legislative requirements.
• Manage and maintain the upkeep of the simulators and provide input into training budget.
• Manage training budget allocated to prevent over expenditure.
• Create enabling environment for subordinates to function. Manage activities of subordinates.
• Ensure management of team through the Connect.
• Ensure subordinates comply with company polies and procedures and put corrective action in place when deviation occur.
• Compile, maintain and manage training matrix, in accordance with site and legislative requirements, as well as national and industry standards. Consult on additional technical requirements during the individual development plan process.
• Attend and participate in ATR, departmental meetings, standards meetings and safety and risk meetings and Monitor training plans.
• Manage all resources to effectively execute the training plan.
• Manage training material to ensure it is aligned to legislation and site specific requirements.
• Consult line management regarding shortfall on legal and competency training.
• Co-ordinate OEM training, Manage training delivery, Monitor training delivery. Manage training records to meet legislative and audit requirements. Conduct document control spot-checks.
• Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports.
• Identify problems and take corrective action. Conduct spot-checks on subordinate’s reports. Monitor customer satisfaction for attendees (L1) and direct supervisors (L2).
• Conduct customer evaluations for line management (L3), put corrective actions in place and close out corrective actions.
Minimum requirements
• National Certificate: Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices NQF Level 5 (Required))
• Diploma/Degree: Metallurgy (Required)
• Valid driver’s licence code B / EB (Required)
• Dover B Symbol (Advantageous)
