Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and driven Training Facilitator Mining, at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To facilitate learning and development and conduct assessments for critical tasks as per activities in the mine cycle.

Job description

Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
Determine training needs and standards in accordance with legislative requirements, national and industry standards. Liaise with Line Management within a Section and arrange to align training material with operational requirements.
Maintain training matrix – Needs & competencies on mining and TMM’s.
Check and follow up on training interventions. Perform trend analysis.
Ensure line management is informed at all times regarding shortfalls on legal and competency training.
Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.
Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives and lead group discussions to solve problems.
Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
Conduct facilitation according to operational and legislative requirements.  
Evaluate the learner satisfaction forms and the quality of learning in order to determine the quality of training.
Comply in terms with training to all SHERQ requirements in line with mine health and safety act.
Ensure to comply with all HIRA requirements in line with training.
Conduct outcomes based assessments as per the operational and legislative requirements. Ensure that assessment documents is completed accordingly.
Compile daily training reports on progress and challenges.
Control the attendance of learners and self to schedule learning events.
Ensure equipment for training is maintained, clean and in a safe working condition at all times.  
Check the PPE of learners and ensure it is fit for purpose.
Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and codes of practice.
Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimise waste. Provide feedback on optimisation opportunities. Control resources within span to minimise waste.
Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues, take remedial actions where necessary.
Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development initiatives. Participate in learning initiatives. Provide team members with appropriate staff development and coach team.
Lead team to sustainable, high performance levels through planning, scheduling, supervision of process / system activities to achieve goals.

Minimum requirements

•    Grade 12.
•    National Certificate in ODETDP Level 5.
•    Conduct Outcome-Based Assessment Level 5.
•    Blasting Certificate or MQA Rock Breaking Certificate (Issued Between 1 Jul 2009 – 31 May 2017).
•    Competent A and B (Skills programme).
•    Certificate Blasting Assistant.
•    Skills programme Underground TMM (3 TMM Specialisations).
•    Valid code B/EB driver’s licence.
•    3 Years Mechanised Bord and Pillar Mining Experience.
•    2 Years Training, facilitation and assessing Experience.
