Introduction

To provide a service function to the production and maintenance functions, employing sound reliability engineering principles and methods to reduce the risk of poor performance and reliability impacting production plans and budgets. This role drives the implementation of the asset management framework and develops appropriate maintenance strategies for individual equipment.

Job description

• Lead and implement comprehensive asset management strategies while ensuring optimal equipment reliability and performance through industry best practices 
• Analyze equipment failures through root cause analysis (RCA) and develop preventive solutions to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime 
• Drive the implementation of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs and condition monitoring systems to improve equipment performance 
• Develop and optimize maintenance strategies through data analysis, trend monitoring, and performance metrics to achieve production targets 
• Manage and control maintenance budgets while identifying cost-effective solutions for equipment reliability improvements 
• Coordinate with stakeholders and contractors to ensure effective implementation of reliability programs and maintenance initiatives 
• Ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act regulations while maintaining high SHERQ standards in all reliability operations 
• Lead continuous improvement projects and change management initiatives to enhance maintenance effectiveness and equipment reliability 
• Provide technical expertise and support to production and maintenance teams while facilitating problem-solving and optimization efforts
• Drive maintenance readiness through systematic planning, resource optimization, and implementation of preparation standards to ensure execution excellence
• Serve as custodian of equipment condition monitoring and replacement/refurbishment planning while ensuring asset optimization
• Lead spare parts optimization initiatives through standardization, implementing storage and protection standards to enhance cost efficiency and parts reliability

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
•    Bachelor of Science Engineering/ B.Tech Engineering (Required)
•    Management Development Programme (Recommended/ Desirable)
•    Project Management Diploma / Degree (Recommended/ Desirable) 
•    Certificate: GCC (Mines and Works) Engineering (Recommended/ Desirable) 
•    Valid code B/EB driver’s license
•    5 Years’ Experience in the maintenance of plant and equipment (Mining/Industrial environment)
•    4 Years’ Experience in asset management and reliability
•    2 Years’ RCM and RCA facilitation experience
