Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking driven and ambitious young professionals, already proven themselves in a mining environment at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Job description

This is a boots-on-the-ground engineering key role in managing Mining Contractors and ensuring BRMO compliance with DMR Regulations. Support a team that’s pushing boundaries in mining innovation, safety and sustainability.

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (Required).
  • National Diploma (N6/S4/T4) Engineering NQF Level 6 (Required).
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering NQF level 6 (Alternative).
  • Certificate” GCC Mines and Works (advantageous).
  • Valid Code B Driver’s license.

Experience and Requirements

  • 2 Years engineering experience in a mining environment.
  • 1 Year Experience in managing projects.
Knowledge and Skills: 
  • Results-driven mindset.
  • Change Leadership capability.
  • Microsoft Office, JDE, Oracle, Isometrix, QlikView
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proven ability to lead teams and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Assist in Managing contractors and ensuring projects meet engineering standards and legal requirements.
  • Ensure project delivery in terms of deadlines and budgets and safety standards.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, streamline operations, and resolve conflicts to boost efficiency.
  • Promote safe work practices, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to SHERQ and DMR regulations.
  • Maintain high-quality standards and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Contribute to planning and manage operational, labour, and budgets within your scope.
  • Support training, coaching, and performance management to build a capable and motivated team.
  • Assist in staffing plans to ensure the team is resourced to meet project goals.
  • Strong leadership skills to build solid working relationships.
  • Driving optimisation and transformation across the board.
