Position Summary
Introduction
To ensure that BRMO complies with applicable environmental standards, legislation and policies.
Job description
• System skills - JDE, Microsoft office and Isometrix.
• Drawing from own experience or knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope.
• Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action
• Conduct document control spot-checks.
• Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience.
• Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes
• Ensure to update the legal register on a constant basis.
• Ensure that the environmental register is maintained and updated on a daily basis.
• Ensure to participate in all environmental audits and to ensure that the backlog required for audits is correct and adhere to audit standards.
• Ensure environmental inspections take place regularly and planned inspections according to BRMO standards.
• Ensure that the environmental documents are reviewed, documented and maintained as per BRMO standards.
• Ensure all environmental incidents are reported, followed up on the system and closed should the incident be resolved.
• Ensure that all the Environmental Management Programme requirements are fulfilled or implemented according to BRMO standards.
• Ensure effective communication with all stakeholders in terms of all relevant environmental topics.
• Ensure that all relevant actions on the Isometrix system are executed within time.
• Ensure that all environmental emergency preparedness are executed according to BRMO standards as scheduled.
Minimum requirements
• Diploma: Environmental Management/ Science NQF Level 6 (Required)
• Degree: Environmental Management/ Science NQF Level 7 (Alternative)
• Certificate in Implementing Environmental Management Systems- ISO 14001-2015
• Valid Code B / EB driver’s licence (Required).
