Chief Planner
Position Summary
Introduction
To manage and coordinate all equipment maintenance initiatives by establishing maintenance plans to enable optimal operational performance. To capture and validate information on the relevant asset management systems in order to ensure the integrity of data used in the asset management decision making processes.
Job description
• Develop and optimize maintenance schedules through data analysis, performance tracking, and KPI monitoring to achieve operational excellence
• Manage supplier relationships and performance monitoring to ensure effective delivery of relevant services and continuous improvement of maintenance operations
• Oversee the implementation of preventative maintenance programs and coordinate major repair planning to minimize operational disruptions
• Direct the documentation and standardization of asset management processes while ensuring compliance with SHERQ requirements and regulatory mandates
• Control departmental budgets and expenditure tracking while providing strategic input for maintenance cost optimization and resource allocation
• Lead the development and periodic review of plant and equipment maintenance strategies to align with overall business objectives and operational requirements
• Build and develop planning team capability through performance monitoring, coaching, and implementing formal development frameworks to ensure operational excellence
• Compile weekly, monthly and annual reports for operational and engineering effectiveness.
Minimum requirements
• Certificate: Trade Test
• Certificate: Engineering Studies N4 (Required)
• Certificate: Maintenance Management (Required)
• Middle Management Programme (Recommended/ Diserable)
• 3-4 Years’ Work Management and Control in a Plant/Mining Maintenance Environment (Planner)
• 3-4 Years’ Supervisory Experience (Recommended)
• 2 Years’ Data Management (Data Quality, Records Management, Security, Governance, Master and Reference Data Management, Meta Data Management, Data Integration)(Recommended)
