Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of Superintendent Warehouse at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. Total stores management to ensure a smooth and continuous material supply to the production lines.

Job description

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, control and monitor approved changes to area of responsibility to respond to changes in the industry, legislation, and other related matters including transformation and optimisation. 
  • Assist with workplace readiness assessment.
  • Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks.
  • Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members. Recognise and reward team member efforts.
  • Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes.
  • Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub-function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
  • Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plan and develop sub-functional plans.
  • Ensure operational plan is implemented.
  • Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources.
  • Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met.
  • Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts.
  • Manage Inventory and stock control and oversee stock count accuracy.
  •  Ensure that stores infrastructure and resourcing is adequate to meet changing customer requirements and needs.
  • Develop, implement and improve policies and procedures for stores management and submit to line manager for approval.
  •  Plan, implement, maintain and improve stores infrastructure to ensure all internal store, stock and customer requirements are met.
  •  Develop and maintain materials management systems and procedures for stores to ensure effective store operation.
  • Ensure access control processes are in place and optimum utilization of Barcoding System
  •  Manage performance of stores across locations to ensure objectives are achieved. Optimise stock value in a cost effective manner and simultaneously prevent stock outs to meet business and customer needs.
  •  Innovate and / or enhance existing stores systems and introduce best stores practices to drive optimisation.
 
 

Minimum requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
  • Bachelor of Commerce: Supply Chain Management or relevant degree (Required)Valid code B/EB driver’s license (Required)
 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 8 Years’ Procurement and stores management in a mining / technical environment
  • 5 Years’ Supervisory experience 
  • Microsoft Office
