Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and driven Officer Port Logistics, at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated at Gqebertha Port Office. To Perform Planning, Supervision and Execution of port rail operations, terminal offloading, stacking, stockpiling, reclaiming and vessel loading at Gqeberha manganese terminal, including TFR and TPT port related operating activities and general Transnet engagements related to it. As well as vessel operating processes and documentation.

Job description

Participate in change initiatives, provide feedback and participate in overall improvement initiatives:

Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance, both internally and with Transnet.

Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks while participate in improvement initiatives.

Rule compliance:

Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.

Contribute to team performance:

Contribute to Inland Logistics and Vessel teams’ performance.

Capture quality data and Reporting:

Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.  Collate accurate stock and logistics reports as required.

Logistics Operations:

Assist in managing execution of the train loading, train off-loading activities.  Management and Execution of the port stacking, stockpiling, reclaiming and vessel loading activities including all vessel and port agent related documents as required.

Participation in and execution of planning:

Participate in planning process for the Gqeberha Port. Execute plans within standard by conducting task observations at the port to ensure compliance (arrival of trains, stockpiling and loading of vessels).

SLA Compliance:

Ensure compliance within the Transnet service level agreement (rail and port).

Safety Management:

Ensure compliance to OSH Act 16(2) legal appointment for Gqeberha Port Inland Logistics Port Office.

Minimise waste:

Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimise waste.

Team relationships:

Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues, including Transnet rail and port operational teams.

Personal development and participation in initiatives:

Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer and team learning initiatives.

Minimum requirements

             Grade 12.

             Diploma in Logistics NQF Level 6.

             National Diploma Shipping NQF Level 6 (Alternative).

             Valid Code B Driver’s License.

             5 Years’ Experience Operating within a Transnet Environment and dealing with Bulk Rail and Port Processes.
