General Engineering Supervisor (GES)- Underground- Plant
Position Summary
Introduction
ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and driven GES Underground-Plant, at Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To provide specialised technical support and expertise for the Engineering function underground in trackless mobile machinery, fixed plant infrastructure, services in infrastructure, (electrical, water, compressed air). To assist with modifications, projects, studies, and plans to meet business objectives.
Job description
- Perform asset care activities as required to EAMS system including accurate and timeous feedback and documentation to all stakeholders.
- Manage inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas. Report problems and make recommendations to Engineer.
- Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
- Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.
- Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
- Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
- Contribute to team performance.
- Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
- Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
- Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
- Oversee the schedule for planned maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance and operational management of plant and machinery.
- Oversee the coordination of orders with regards to any breakdowns or maintenance reported and processed.
- Participate and manage mine projects with regards to Engineering. Ensure projects are executed within budget and time frames.
- Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimise waste. Provide feedback on optimisation opportunities.
- Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues, take remedial actions where necessary.
- Complete Individual Development Plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer and team learning initiatives.
Minimum requirements
• Trade Certificate Artisan: Fitter/Boilermaker/Millwright/Electrician.
• Certificate N5 Engineering Studies.
• Certificate: Advanced Management (Advantageous).
• Valid Code B/EB Drivers License.
• 3 Years Supervisory of Foreman Experience.
• Experience in the maintenance and operation of BEVs (advantageous).
