Introduction

Develop and deliver training interventions and responsible for the application of the full training cycle in the mining discipline.

Job description

•    Computer Literate - Microsoft Office, JDE, Qlikview, Oracle. 
•    Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
•    Determine training needs and standards in accordance with legislative requirements, national and industry standards. Liaise with Line Management within a Section and arrange to align training material with operational requirements.
•    Maintain training matrix – Needs & competencies on mining and TMM’s.
•    Check and follow up on training interventions. Perform trend analysis.
•    Ensure line management is informed at all times regarding shortfalls on legal and competency training.
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives and lead group discussions to solve problems.
•    Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
•    Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standard.
•    Conduct facilitation according to operational and legislative requirements.  
•    Evaluate the learner satisfaction forms and the quality of learning in order to determine the quality of training.
•    Comply in terms with training to all SHERQ requirements in line with mine health and safety act.
•    Ensure to comply with all HIRA requirements in line with training.
•    Conduct outcomes based assessments as per the operational and legislative requirements. Ensure that assessment documents is completed accordingly.
•    Compile daily training reports on progress and challenges.
•    Control the attendance of learners and self to schedule learning events.
•    Ensure equipment for training is maintained, clean and in a safe working condition at all times.  
•    Check the PPE of learners and ensure it is fit for purpose.
•    Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and codes of practice.

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate Grade 12 (Required)
•    National Certificate Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices NQF Level 5 (Required)
•    Conduct Outcome Based Assessment – Level 5 (Required)
•    Trade Certificate (Adventageous) 
•    Metallurgy Skills Programme (Mineral Processing / Sampling / Laboratory) (Required)
•    Valid code B/EB driver’s licence (Required)
•    3 Years’ Experience in Plant / Metallurgy 
•    2 years’ Training and Assessor experience
