Ensure compliance with mine health and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with mine policies, procedures and standards. Plan and organise resources, people and equipment to ensure the execution of the drilling schedule.

 

 

Assist with the implementation of sub-functional change management to drive transformation and optimisation. Drawing from own experience or vocational knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope.
Issue instructions and coordinate with other areas and service departments to remedy.

Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with  Safety, Health and Environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and  hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. 
Take care  of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees. Conduct risk assessments. 
Ensure operational plan is updated, implemented, executed and achieved
Conduct Plan Task Observations (PTO) relevant to roof and face prep, drill and blast as well as load and haul operations.
Ensure that Sampling request are done on time and are done accurately to promote 100% Sampling coverage Ensure sampling sheets are interpreted correctly. Ensure grade control in accordance to mine planning.
Receive and interpret handover report from the previous Shiftboss or from previous shift in your Section, determining status of operation. 
Fill in Shiftboss logbook at the end of the shift, ensure that all appointments is done updated and signed off by relevant appointees. Identify own priorities including PTO’s (Plan Task Observations) and communicate constraints to relevant stakeholders.
