Introduction

Manage the scheduling, transport and delivery of all material and staff according to the needs and requirements of the various shafts, stores and workshops, taking into account the logistics capability.

Job description

•    Intermediate Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, JDE, Oracle or SAP). 
•    Oversee day to day safe, reliable, and efficient transportation service of personnel and material within the shaft.
•    Ensure the logistics fleet is kept in an optimal condition by adhering to maintenance schedules and legal inspections.
•    Compile your own loading plan and schedule transportation based on the internal customer demands.
•    Continuously align with the Stores to achieve sufficient inventory levels underground.
•    Allocate fleet to support the underground sanitation and waste management activities.
•    Compile quality data derived perfomance reports for your area of responsibility.
•    Identify any logistics process inefficiencies, and proactively undertake improvement initiatives to achieve perfomance targets.
•    Provide leadership and expertise to the logistics team including managing their attendance, development and perfomance to ensure tasks are carried out safely and effectively.
•    Responsible for SHERQ performance and cultivating a safe working culture by promoting compliance to safety standards and regulations in the responsible area.

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
•    Diploma: Logistics / Transport Management (Required)
•    Valid code B/EB driver’s license
•    3 Years’ Operational experience in a mining /operational environment in scheduling end user requirements for material delivery / project planning 
•    2 Years Exposure to planning / material ordering and delivery / fleet management
