ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of a Chargehand Mechanic at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

Job description
MAIN TASK AND RESPONSIBILITY:
- Ensure equipment availability and reliability through application of maintenance management systems and resources to achieve production targets. Monitor progress and evaluate.
Minimum requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate: Grade 12.
- Certificate: Trade Test Mechanic / Auto Electrician.
- Certificate: N3 Engineering studies.
- Valid Code B/EB Drivers license.
- Should obtain a Dover B symbol.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years relevant post qualification experience in a Mining environment.
- 1 Year supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office, JDE, Qlickview & Oracle
- Ensure the execution of scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical repairs, inspections and installations is done as required
- Coordinate maintenance as well as statutory inspections and audits by internal and external providers
- Implement team operational plans to ensure defined objectives are met through supporting and being supported by other teams linked to the department
- Supervise and inspect subordinates daily activities offer coaching and on the job training to ensure maintenance according to organizational standards
- Obtain information, check accuracy and capture data
- File documents as per the procedure
- Proposed ideas or practical improvements relevant to the task
- Comply with disciplinary and behavioral rules and procedures
- Maintain active and informative relations with all team members and colleagues, take remedial action where necessary
- Know and exercise the basic principles of safety in mining
- Comply with safety, health and environmental standards
- Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in the work area
- Participate in the planning process for the section and execute plans within standard
- Comply with quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Remuneration will be based on a competitive all-inclusive flexible package.
