Introduction
ASSMANG Pty Ltd requires the services of an Engineer Production at their Black Rock Mine Operations situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape.
Job description
Management of all maintenance and production machinery as well as maintenance and operational of the Plant / Shaft Winder equipment. The Engineer Production will also manage all erection and maintenance in his area
Minimum requirements
- Certificate: Grade 12.
- Certificate GCC Mines and Works.
- Bachelor of Science Engineering.
- National Diploma N6 / S4/ T4 (Alternative).
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

- 2 Years experience as Section Engineer in a Mining industry.
- 2 Years Supervisory experience.
- Valid Code B/EB drivers License.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
(Essential unless otherwise indicated)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Office, JDE, Oracle & Qlikview).
- Collate integrated scorecards for work areas, operations and business groups.
- Create reports.
- Perform trend analysis and internal audits.
- Develop document control systems and practices.
- Ensure Legal, Statutory and regulatory compliance on all requirements are implemented and maintain for function.
- Optimize the functions core internal processes and internal supply chain.
- Resolve cross-functional operating conflict through development of processes, standards and directives.
- Integrate, align and drive change initiatives.
- Walk the talk and motivate others to implement change programs.
- Oversee management of change program and monitor implementation of corrective action.
- Ensure that mechanisms to reduce risk to the business are implemented. Ensure all legislative, accreditation and governance requirements are met.
- Approve innovation and provide the means for implementation.
- Ensure business plan is implemented in a manner that supports operational, quality and market imperatives.
- Promote and enforce culture of statutory compliance.
- Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions. Communicate changes where applicable.
- Ensure maintenance management of all production machinery in your responsible Engineering section.
- Evaluate contractor’s services prior appointment. Approve and ensure adherence to SLA. Ensure total management of contractor’s in your section.
- Remain up to date with macros and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and industry in general.
- Develop and implement the functional strategic plan in support of your Engineering section in accordance with the business plan.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The candidate will be appointed on the condition of being certified medically fit as per Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
Remuneration will be based on a competitive all inclusive flexible package.
