Introduction

ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to be part of this exciting mine and who would like to make use of this unique opportunity to grow and develop within the company to apply for the position at our Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To render a professional health care service to employees which is aligned with set standards and legal requirements. Diagnose and treat a variety of diseases / injuries by performing the various duties.

Job description

  • Integrate and align change initiatives. Walk the talk and motivate others to implement change programmes. Manage change programs. Diagnose deviations and take corrective action.
    Collate integrated scorecards for work areas operations and business groups, Create reports. Perform trend analysis and internal audits. Develop document control systems and practices.
    Optimise the function's core internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve functional operating conflicts.
    Engage with subordinates once removed to encourage and recognise improvement. Approve innovations and provide the means for implementation. Implement operations effectiveness model and practice.
    Promote and enforce a culture of statutory compliance. Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions. Communicate changes where applicable. Monitor and ensure operational adherence to regulations and standards. Ensure implementation of remedial actions.
    Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within function and implement remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
    Provide input into the development of the business plan. Analyse business plans and develop functional plans.
    Remain up to date with macro and micro-economic conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry in general, to anticipate and plan for circumstances that may influence the development of the functional strategic plan.
    Implement maintenance plans and conduct inspections to ensure health facility equipment are in good working order and available.
  • Implementation of the medical surveillance program e.g. pre-employment, periodical and exit medical examinations for all employee categories. Assist with investigations and occupational disease management.
    Render a professional health care service to employees which is aligned with set standards and legal requirements.
    Diagnose and treats a variety of diseases / injuries by performing the following duties:
    ·    Elicit and record information about patient's medical history;
    ·    Examine patients to determine general physical condition;
    ·    Order or execute various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patients condition;
    ·    Analyse reports and findings of tests and examination to diagnose condition;
    ·    Administer or prescribe treatments and drugs;
    ·    Inoculate and vaccinate patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases;
    ·    Report births, deaths and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities;
    ·    Refer patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment;
    May perform minor surgery.
  • Comply with safety, health, wellness, disease management, environmental and quality standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in IMS meetings in a manner that support and meet operational standards.
  • Implement standardised budget control systems. Promote team to minimise waste and enforce a culture of short intervals of control. Evaluate negative trends and introduce remedial solutions. Engage with unions and teams on current and future cost trends and financial status.
  • Promote establishing active, informative relations with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate solutions for unresolved disputes. Act as representative of the organisation at stakeholder forums. Manage expectations within mandate and protocol.
  • Implement and manage people development (i.e. performance management, succession planning, talent etc.) to meet functional performance standards. Retain talent and engaged employees.
    Implement own Development Plan. Develop and coach team members and encourage knowledge transfer. Mentor subordinates once removed. Analyse trends and identify competence training gaps and action.
    Accountable for the function's performance, within the agreed strategic framework and approved plans.
    Conduct workforce planning to ensure function is suitably staffed to meet objectives taking into account various internal and external factors.

Minimum requirements

•    Grade 12.
•    MBCH Degree.
•    Bachelor Degree of Arts Curationis (Advantageous).
•    Postgraduate Diploma Occupational Medicine (Advantageous).
•    Valid Code B Driving License.
•    6 Years Primary and Occupational Health Care Experience.
