Position Summary
Introduction
ASSMANG Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled, motivated and dedicated individuals who would like to be part of this exciting mine and who would like to make use of this unique opportunity to grow and develop within the company to apply for the position at our Black Rock Mine Operations, situated 80km North-West of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. To assemble, install and repair water, drainage and sewerage pipes as well as fitting and fixtures of water and drainage systems.
Job description
• Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioral rules and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control.
• Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area.
• Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
• Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
• Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks.
• Participate in improvement initiatives.
• Participate in planning process for section.
• Execute plans within standard.
• Build, install, do diagnostics and repair pipelines and plumbing equipment per maintenance and breakdown work orders.
• Consider environmental risks.
• Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas.
• Report problems and make recommendations to Supervisors.
• Maintain workshop and assets namely work areas, equipment, tools and toolbox.
• Perform instructions as per work orders and job cards.
Minimum requirements
• Certificate: Trade Test Plumbing.
• Valid Driver’s Licence Code B/EB.
• Dover B Symbol.
• 2 Years Post Apprenticeship Experience as Plumber in a Mining Environment for Internal Applicants.
