Job description
• Drive and enforce Basic Principles of Safety and Mining
• Be reminded: “No job is so important that it cannot be done safely”

• Apply section 22 & 23
• Comply with the Mine Health and Safety Act of 1996
• Comply, enforce and execute disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
• Enforce and entrench the safety slogan “No job is so important that it cannot be done safely”.
• Enforce and execute basic principles of mining.
• Enforce and execute basic principles of safety
• Perform according to defined operational best practice. Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous delivery improvement, drawing from generic and vocational knowledge and skills. Participate in implementation of change initiatives and provide feedback on team resistance.
• Ensure Roadway Repair and Constructing/Maintenance of Roadways is done in accordance with Basic Roadway Principals,
• Loading of “Fly dirt” on Sidewalls
• Loading of Big Rocks in roadways
• Ensure when Roadways are built the “Camber” is created to ensure water is allayed for the Roadway
• Lead Entry Examination, Making Safe and Declaring Safe process allowing Team Members to Start working at Work Areas
• Conduct Weekly Travelling Way Examinations and Large Excavation Examinations
• Familiarise him/herself with the current and future roadways to effectively plan ahead
Minimum requirements
• Blasting certificate / MQA Rock Breaking Certificate (issued 1 Jul 2009 – 31 May 2017) (Required)
• Driver’s license: Code B/EB (Required)
• Dover B symbol (Required)
• Valid First Aid Certificate (Required)
• Qualification Condonement will apply to internal - NC Assmang employees
