Introduction

Prepare, maintain and operator production equipment. Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and equipment. Conduct daily and weekly inspection on Winders as per MHSA and regulations.

Job description

•    Perform asset care activities as required to EAMS system including accurate and timeous feedback and                      documentation to all stakeholder.
•    Obtain information, check accuracy and capture data. File documents as per procedure.
•    Comply with disciplinary and behavioral rules and procedures.
•    Conduct risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control. 
•    Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining.
•     Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. 
•    Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area.
•    Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
•    Contribute to team performance.
•    Complete daily inspection checklists for tools, equipment and work areas.
•    Report problems and make recommendation to Supervisors.
•    Conduct fitting work which supports maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations of mechanical                     equipment per work orders and breakdown work orders. 
•    Consider direct environment risks.
•    Maintain workshop area, equipment, tool and toolbox. 
•    Perform instructions as per work orders and job cards.
•    Participate in change initiatives and provide feedback on resistance.
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.
•    Participate in planning process for section. Execute plans within standards.
•    Monitor and control production processes with area of responsibility. Assist with and monitor preventative and        breakdown maintenance during shift. Report mechanical breakdowns in time.
•    Adhere to maintenance and production maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations of mechanical                 equipment per work orders and breakdown work orders. Consider direct environment risks.
•    Assist to ensure safe and effective operation of the shaft winder for the haulage or ore, persons and materials         during shift. 
•    Undertaking maintenance, fault finding and repairs of winders. 
•    Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimize waste. Provide feedback on                           optimization opportunities. 

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate: Grade 12 /or Equivalent (Required)
•    Certificate: Trade Test Fitter (Required) 
•    Relevant winder and ropes training (Required)
•    Valid Code B/EB Driver’s License (Required)
•    Dover B Symbol (Required)
•    3 Years’ Post apprenticeship Fitter in heavy industrial, mining ,plant environment and experience in Winders as          Fitter within mining environment.
