Introduction

Conduct inspections and operate Drill Rig in accordance to drill plan. To render support with ad hoc tasks and adhere to safety procedures and mine standards

Job description

•    Conduct vehicle inspections and housekeeping. Identify sub performance. Report deviations. Operate the drill rig and produce accurate drilled holes for the charging, blasting and sampling activities. Render support with ad hoc tasks. Only operate in a workplace that has been declared safe by the miner in charge.
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives
•    Complete pre-start check list accurately and record all equipment defects or potential defects.
•    Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
•    Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
•    Contribute to team performance.
•    Participate in change initiatives.
•    Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
•    Complete documentation accurately and in full. Ensure all documents are provided to supervision for safekeeping
•    Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.

Minimum requirements

•    Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
•    Valid Code B / EB Drivers Licence (Required)
•    Dover A Symbol (Required)
•    Drill Rig License (Required)
•    1-year Equipment operation – Scaler, UV, UBST, Bolters / Drill Rig (External)
•    2-years’ Mining experience
