Introduction
Conduct vehicle inspections and operate Roofbolter and Drill Rig equipment according to SOPs. Render support with ad hoc tasks and adhere to safety procedures.
Job description
• Conduct vehicle inspections and housekeeping.
• Operate the roof bolter.
• Operate the drill rig and produce accurate drilled holes for the charging, blasting and sampling activities.
• Operate the machines as per operational requirements to execute the section’s plan.
• Operate the assigned equipment efficiently to maximise utilisation and minimise wastage and lost time /ideal time.
• For a specific shift, operate the vehicle allocated by the shift supervisor in accordance with SOP’s.
• Conduct inspections on production machinery and vehicles and report deviations via the vehicle pre-and-post start checklist.
• Maintain equipment performance during operation and report deviations. Fill equipment with diesel to ensure continuous operations.
• Maintain the equipment to good working condition ensuring equipment is operational and safe. Report equipment damages to the Shift Boss immediately.
• Operate in safe declared working places. Identify sub performance. Report deviations. Render support with ad hoc tasks.
• Complete pre-start check list accurately and record all equipment defects or potential defects
• Know and exercise the basic principles of safety and mining. Comply with safety, health and environmental standards. Identify and report unsafe and hazardous situations in work area. Participate in safety meetings. Take care of your own safety and the safety of fellow employees.
• Comply with Quality standards and deliver in a manner that support and meet operational quality standards.
• Contribute to team performance.
• Participate in change initiatives.
• Comply with disciplinary and behavioural rules and procedures.
• Complete documentation accurately and in full. Ensure all documents are provided to supervision for safekeeping
• Propose ideas or practical improvements relevant to tasks. Participate in improvement initiatives.

Minimum requirements
• Certificate: Grade 12 (Required)
• Valid Code B / EB Drivers Licence (Required)
• Dover A Symbol (Required)
• Roofbolter and Drill Rig License (Required)
• Valid Code B / EB Drivers Licence (Required)
• Dover A Symbol (Required)
• Roofbolter and Drill Rig License (Required)
• 1-year experience in Mining operations
• 5-years’ Equipment Operations experience in a mining environment
• 5-years’ Equipment Operations experience in a mining environment
